The Right Baby Name
Here is something interesting I would like to share with you. The image to the right holds an entire baby naming theory.
According to this theory, there are 3 major factors to think about when naming a baby: uniqueness, fit, and goodwill.
Uniqueness is fairly self-explanatory, according to this graphic it depends on the name’s frequency (how often the name is used) and its cyclicality (is the name becoming more frequent right now – is a fad developing?).
Fit just describes if the name is a match in your family (have the brothers and sisters the same style of name), your ethnicity, and your religion.
Goodwill is the factor that is the least obvious. It covers the connotations that come with a name based on which members of society typically uses these names – are they educated, working class, etc.
Apparently, there used to be a website that tried to quantify these factors, but I cannot find it on the net.
Yeah the website isn’t there anymore. Very funny. Ha-Ha.
yea, where is the website??
